Friday night proved memorable for JJ and Emer Dunne as they recorded a fine treble as Emers Jessie, Emers Bear and Emers Benny all prevailed.
The kennel started as they meant to go on in race one as Emers Jessie landed the opening race on the card as she made every yard of the running. A 2/1 co-favourite, the daughter of Pestana and Bogger Bonnie rocketed from trap two and despite steering a wide-course, she proved three and a half lengths too strong for nearest rival, Total Chaos, in second. The time was 29.48 .10s.
The double was completed in race eight as Emers Bear (Confident Rankin - Emers Ivy) landed the spoils in what proved a very close affair. The 6/4 favourite, ‘Bear’ was only moderately away from three but the inside line proved crucial as he shot clear into the back to take a five length lead. Pops Wish emerged from the pack and really began to motor late on, however, Emers Bear had jus enough in reserve to win by a short-head. The time was 29.43 .10s.
The treble was secured in the final race of the night as Emers Benny broke his maiden tag in comfortable style. A November son of Out Of Range and Emers Baby, the strapping brindle broke smartly from three and showed fine early dash to open a four length lead rounding the opener. Extending his advantage down the back, ‘Benny’ ran out a comprehensive winner over Savage Stuff, who closed the gap to three and a half crossing the line. The time was 29.62 .10s.
