MUCKY BOREEN SETS STRONG STANDARD IN DAVY O’BRIEN MEMORIAL TRI DISTANCE

MUCKY BOREEN, trained by James Kelleher for Don and Gerard Buckley, went quickest when posting a fantastic 29.98 in the semi finals of the Davy O’Brien Tri Distance on Saturday night. 

The even money favourite produced a quick start to lead, displaying plenty of pace throughout, the bright prospect ran out a brilliant winner. That’s three wins from four career outings. A length back to Rosshill News in second place. 

CONVINCING WINNER

Next best on the clock was Bright Ivy as the well fancied winner ran out a convincing winner.

Trained by John Linehan for Aaron Cambridge Murphy, the 4-7 favourite turned in a handy position before finishing strongly to land the spoils, in 30.05. Four and a half lengths back to Millridge Timmy in second.

SMART DISPLAY

In the opening semi final, Murdaniel Trick put on a smart front running winning display for Kevin Murphy.

Showing lovely early gears, the 2-1 shot clocked 30.38, a length clear of Lemon Bundee.

IMPRESSIVE 

In the €1,350 to winner Liss May ON2 Stakes Final, Drive On Petsy impressed when winning for Christopher O’Donovan.

The rapidly improving June puppy won the all-important early lead and the classy lead put on a superb display to score. A stunning. 28.66 winning run, two lengths clear of Carefree Carol.

IN OTHER RACES

In the €1,200 to the winner Talking Dogs ON3 Stake Final, it was Chile Line Dolly who came home in front for trainer Tom O’Neill and owners the Cuile Line Syndicate. A strong powerful display to win, in 29.48.

In the tenth, an A0, Curragh Ger beat a strong field of runners when winning in 28.45 for Michael O’Keeffe. The 9-2 exploded from traps to make all the running and deliver a career best performance. A length back to Valleys Angel in second place.
