HOLLYHILL MOLL delivered the performance of the night in Youghal last night as the 8-1 outsider sprang a major surprise in the seventh of the night, an A0-A1 contest.
Hot favourite Skylight Blake stumbled leaving traps and it was Hollyhill Moll who took control right away. In the care of Ger Gubbins, Fermoy, the daughter of Droopys Sydney and Chopchop Avelline was strong throughout as she showed massive gears to win easily, in 28.98. Knockboy Boris was four and a half lengths back in second.
JOHN KIELY DOUBLE
Deerjet Quattro took the opener in 29.52.
Trained by John Kiely for owners the Tech-Syndicate, Killeagh, the 4-5 favourite came home clear of his nearest rival.
It was a John Kiely double after Areyouathome dominated from start to finish in race 10. In the ownership of Ann Marie Keane, Cork, the 7-2 winner put on a stunning front running display to win, in 29.30. (A3)
IN OTHER RACES
Mona Dante made it back-to-back winning performances in race four. Backed from 6-4 into 5-4 on track, Paudie O'Sullivan's in form didn't produce her quickest start but she showed lovely early dash to slip around in front. Garryvoe Anton caught the eye late on, a length the margin, in 29.38. (A2).
Slaneyside Ryan made no mistake when winning the ninth, an A5, for the Thurles kennel of Derek Kehoe. The well-supported 7-4 favourite won the early lead and he pulled clear to win, in 29.25, six lengths clear of Bohermore Swift.
Margos Flyer (11-4) impressed when leading all the way in race 11. In the ownership of Jack Foley McGann and James McGann, it was a return to winning form in 29.37.
