Abigails Fantasy followed up a superb semi-final success to capture the feature of Friday’s action at Shelbourne Park, the final of the Retired Greyhound Trust A3 525.

Charming Pet was a marginal favourite at 5-4 but Abigails Fantasy had plenty of support also before going to traps a 6-4 chance to land the €1,750 prize.

The pace-setting duties were taken up by Matts Memory but the Marina McKeown trained Abigails Fantasy was never far away in second before asserting at the third turn. Once going to the front, he was always going to take some catching although Charming Pet did make things interesting, finishing well to force the judge into action.

In a tight finish, Abigails Fantasy, owned by Liquorice Allsorts Syndicate, held on by a head in a fast 28.58.
