REBEL SPRING delivered a sensational debut performance on Monday night's opener at Youghal Track.
Trained by John Kiely for Brian Mackey, Killeagh, the well-backed 4-6 favourite impressed with a magnificent 28.84 winning run. It's not often we see that kind of run on debut around the seaside venue and the October puppy was in cruise control throughout.
Clocking outstanding finishing sectionals to pull clear, the daughter of Broadstrand Bono and Rossies Champ came home ten lengths clear of Congress Bell. A very special performance from an exciting puppy.
FLEW TO VICTORY
Dower Dixie, trained by John Hickey for Tadhg O'Loughlin, proved a class apart in race number three, an A3 contest.
Sent off the well-backed 4-5 favourite, once he broke in front, it was name the distance. A real eye-catcher in defeat last time, he made no mistake this time around as he flew to victory, in a top class, 28.86, seven and a half lengths clear of Witches Venus in second place.
ROCKET WINS EASILY
Da Little Rocket justified strong market support to win the fourth, an A2, for the B-Y-K-Syndicate. Sent off the 6-4 favourite, it was race over after a couple of strides. Showing lovely early to storm clear, the July youngster came home alone, in 29.14. A superb display from the exciting prospect.
