On a day when Crafty Kokoro is amongst those up for honours at the National Greyhound Awards, plenty will be glad to hear that she is on the way back after a lengthy layoff.
The brilliant Corn Cuchulainn champ and Derby third hasn’t been seen since the Winter Racing Festival in late December but she trialled at Shelbourne Park on Thursday evening.
On a rather miserable evening in Dublin, she moved well in her trial over 525yds to clock a more than satisfactory 28.70. It is thought a crack at the Oaks is the most likely immediate target with the defence of her Corn Cuchulainn also part of the plan.
