After 32 opening round heats, Ireland’s hand in the Star Sports & TRC English Derby is even stronger than it was prior to the start of the classic.
With exactly a quarter of the remaining runners representing these shores after a stunning opening round display, we can now look forward to the second round.
Just one of the Irish have received a change in seeding. Liam Dowling requested that Ballymac Marino was changed to an inside seed and his wish has been granted.
Of course, the Irish performed real heroics in the opening round with only three of our initial team of 27 failing to progress. Below we’ve highlighted some of the stats from the opening round focusing, as you would expect, on the Irish runners.
