ALL ABOUT KILAHEEN LADY IN CURRAHEEN PARK SPRING DERBY

KILAHEEN LADY was the standout performer in round two of the €24,000 Curraheen Park Spring Derby on Saturday night.

Trained by Bernadette Connolly for owners the Pat-Said-Syndicate, the 2-1 winner was making it back-to-back wins in the event with another smashing performance. Showing impressive early dash to just lead around from Millridge Andy, the June puppy was always in control up front and she pulled right away in the closing stages for another fantastic victory.

At the line, she was five and a half lengths clear of Millridge Andy, in 28.39. Nellies Holly was just a neck behind the runner-up in third place.

IMPRESSIVE DISPLAY
Owned and trained by Jennifer O'Donnell, The Other Ollie improved a ton for his comeback run the week before when winning heat three.

Showing nice early dash along the outside of the track, the impressive winner hit the front before the opening corner and he piled on the pressure heading down the back straight. Corrough Ridly was within touching distance early on, but the one in front was strong throughout. It was a superb display to win in 28.49, five and a half lengths clear of the running on Kinturk Road, with a length back to Corrough Ridly in third place.

IN OTHER HEATS
In the opening heat, Rural Taylor landed the spoils for trainer Graham Holland and owners Emily and Helen O'Dwyer. Always handy, the 3-1 shot kept on strongly in the closing stages as he beat Hello Tommy, by three-quarters of a length, in 28.98. Yankee Doddle just a head back in third place.

In heat two, Blarney Boy just got the better of Dellser Bells in a very exciting finish. Trained by Johnny Linehan for the Blarney-Ten-Synocate, the 3-1 winner came from off the pace to score, in 29.08. Just a head separating them at the line, with a length and a half back to Ballymac Pete in third place.

Ballymac Shark showed lighting early speed when making all the running in heat number four. Owned and trained by Liam Dowling, the August puppy was in total control early on as he moved about six lengths clear.Hot favourite Luna Rocket was running on well in the closing stages but the line came in time for the early-paced winner. Only a short head between them at the winning line, in 28.80. Footfield Siren a length behind the runner-up in third place.

The sixth and final heat went the way of Melling Road for Martin Sweeney. Just like the previous week, the 5-2 winner dominated from start to finish. Another likeable effort from the fast-starting Melling Road who stopped the clock, in 28.68, half a length behind Montana Fantasy. Two lengths back to Farout Sydney in third place.
