2023 Derby third and one of the fastest greyhounds in training, Bens Teddy was reported to be okay by Pat Buckley on Sunday morning despite taking a crashing fall at Shelbourne Park on Saturday in the second round of the Bresbet Easter Cup.
There was concern for the brilliant tracker but hopes were high that all would be okay soon after the incident. Emma Buckley was a little upset after racing but certainly relieved to report that Teddy was, “sore and sorry for himself”.
Pat Buckley confirmed this morning that the powerhouse was going to be absolutely fine but compared him to a “young lad that had a rough night on the tiles”.
He continued, “it was a bad fall but we’ve had him thoroughly checked out and he is just sore, no more than that. He’ll be getting plenty of attention and we’re glad to say he’ll be back on the track in the future, although there’s no rush. Towcester remains the plan.”
