It’s with a heavy heart we must report in the passing of Tommy Sneyd, a true friend of greyhound racing and more particularly, Dublin greyhound racing.
For many, many years Tommy was part of the furniture at both Harold’s Cross and Shelbourne Park, owning some wonderfully fast greyhounds in that time.
A jovial and wonderful character that would have a word for anyone, he was the best of company, a gentleman to his core and a true doggy man. He had a great association with Brian Madigan and in more recent years Liam O’Rourke, with both men sending out many winners for Tom.
Those that knew Tom will remember his fondness for telling a yarn about his other great passion, angling. He could talk dogs and fishing all day and night and it’s fair to say Shelbourne Park won’t be the same without him.
We send on our sincerest condolences to his wife Peggy, children Paula, Derek, Brian and Susan, his beloved grandchildren Saoirse, Seana, Caoimhe, Tom, Cian, Laragh, Anna, Isobel, Finlay, Reuben and Myles, his sister Sheila, his daughters in law Aisling and Denise and son in law Conor, his many friends in the angling community and his countless friends in greyhound racing.
May He Rest In Peace
