Ireland now account for just under one third of the Star Sports & TRC English Derby field after a successful second round saw seventeen of the raiding party despite Dolores Ruth being forced to withdraw her two remaining runners.
As a result, Ireland’s grip on the competition seems even stronger than a week ago and hopes are high that most of our remaining runners can progress at the weekend.
Again, Graham Holland is the main man in terms of numbers and talent with seven of his eight-strong team making it through. Swords Rex remains at the head of the betting and on current form he will be very difficult to beat.
Below we’ve highlighted some of the stats from the second round focusing, as you would expect, on the Irish runners.
