BE PART OF HISTORY – AN APPEAL FOR YOUR MEMORIES

Many of you may have read that RCÉ are asking for your help when it comes to the planned museum at Shelbourne Park. As we near one hundred years of greyhound racing in Ireland, it has never been more important to remember our history and this is the perfect opportunity to do so.
Over the past few weeks, this scribe has been scouring through old cards, photos, newspaper clippings and more to donate the museum and we’re asking you to do something similar. If you have any old memorabilia, trophies or anything you think would be suitable, please get in touch.
The aim is to establish a permanent museum at the new Shelbourne Park and it would be great to see wide and varied exhibits, highlighting the rich history of our sport. Aside from any potential donations, we also want to hear your stories.
WE WANT TO TAKE YOUR PICTURE
Of course, not everyone will have a suitable piece of memorabilia but there is still an opportunity for you to be part of the new Shelbourne Park.
Millions of people have made the journey to Shelbourne Park since 1927 and there is to be a centre-piece installation, incorporating the faces of people like you who are an important part of its modern-day story.
There will be a photographer on site on Friday evening, July 26th and we want to take your picture. He will be set up in the Champion Stakes on the top floor of Shelbourne Park between 5 and 9pm. Take the opportunity to be part of history and don’t forget to smile!

1: Bring Your Trophies: contact us at museum@grireland.ie with your contact details (including name and contact phone number) and some details of your trophy* or memorabilia.
2: Tell Your Story: Share anecdotes, victories, and memories and we will do the rest

PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
FRIDAY 26TH JULY
Our photographer will be on site from opening until 9pm on both nights. Follow the directional signage and information in the stadium to participate.
Your name will also be recorded and listed as a participant within the display.
