    STUNNING DEPLOY SETS NEWCASTLE ALIGHT

Droopys Deploy produced a statement type display at Newcastle on Thursday evening, running away with his semi-final of the ARC Northern Puppy Derby in a stunning 28.10.

In what was the toughest heat of the round, the Robert Gleeson trained Irish raider was in a league of his own.

Going up fast, he was already clear of his rivals by the bend and proceeded to run right away from halfway to eventually win by five lengths in 28.10. To highlight the strength of the run, his time was the fastest of the year and the sixth fastest of all time at Brough Park.

The strong running Ballymac Axel was always second to the son of Malachi but couldn’t land a blow, eventually finishing five lengths further adrift, while Toolmaker Quick, a kennel companion to Droopys Deploy was third, but sadly lost out on a place in the decider.

The remaining heats went to Ballymac Lucia, who came home fast to win in 28.55 and Yahoo Maizy, who dominated in her heat to win, in 28.50.

Droopys Deploy is now set to start a warm favourite for next week’s final and has been rewarded with a favourable draw in two with the slower starting Ballymac Lucia drawn on his immediate inner.
