GRI
GRI are in advanced stages of a new agreement with SIS for new racing content from 1st of January 2024. The new agreement will increase to 9 meetings a week with 12 race race cards. Clonmel Track will be a new addition with Mullingar also providing a 2nd meeting on a Friday morning. GRI tracks while maintaining the same prize fund will have an increase in run money to a minimum of €60.
Some new protocols will be introduced with the most notable the allowance of trials to qualify a greyhound to race on an SIS race card. Greyhounds can now run 3 trials if improvement/consistency is shown.
The biggest change to the new SIS agreement is that of the meeting times which are now focused on midday meetings rather than early morning or nighttime racing. This provides a new challenge to GRI but early feedback has been positive. Anyone wishing to provide greyhounds for these SIS meeting should contact their local Race Manager to organise trials or races.
