Kit Man completed his unbeaten passage through the IRGT Open Unraced at Enniscorthy on Thursday evening, although he had to work harder than his 1-3 starting price suggested he might.
The Peter Cronin trained son of Droopys Sydney and Palermo was always prominent, although he twice ran into traffic. One Slick Syd set the pace into the turn but Kit Man was right on his heels. It was at the second bend that Kit Man found his first problems, checking his stride as the leader stayed tight to the fence.
It saw Kit Man relegated to third down the back straight with Road To Nowhere moving second. Kit Man again came to challenge at the third turn but, once again, he was forced to stand up as the leader closed the door.
However, great credit must go to Kit Man as he recovered quickly before staying on strongly to beat One Slick Syd by a half length in 29.22. Have no doubt, there is far better to come from the winner.
