GRI
RCÉ would like to remind owners that some every day products can contain levels of stimulants and feeding them may inadvertently lead to a positive test or adverse analytical finding in a racing greyhound.
RCÉ recognises that some traditional trainers occasionally give greyhounds a drink of tea as part of their daily feed. RCÉ reminds owners, trainers and handlers that common everyday items like tea, coffee and chocolate can contain significant levels of substances like Theobromine, Caffeine and Theophylline, all of which are stimulant in nature and which may give rise to a positive test (or adverse analytical finding).
RCÉ would therefore urge owners to take great care around allowing their racing dogs access to substances like these.
