Kindly sponsored by Tommy Kerrigan, the final of the Trap 1 Greyhound Supplies Unraced 525 featured on last night’s Clonmel card and it went the way of Fantasy Moll who made it back-to-back wins for Leslie Coveney.
Trained by Adam Dunford, Fantasy Moll (Oct 21’) landed her semi final in impressive style when coming from off-the-pac to draw clear in the closing stages, however, last night’s win was a far contrast as she just held on to deny the fast-finishing Goldcash Ice. Running from trap one, Fantasy Moll broke quickly but immediately shipped a bump as she stepped right. However, defending her rails pitch rail, the daughter of Pestana and Newinn Madam displayed big early dash to take a two length lead into the back straight from Cloncunny Sydney in second. Meanwhile, Goldcash Ice was now making good progress in third and he challenged the second upon entrance to the penultimate bend. Fantasy Moll, still in charge at this point, she drifted wide off the final turn which gave Goldcash Ice a sniff of a chance and he rallied in the closing yards to call the judge into action. Fantasy Moll just doing enough to secure a head victory, the time was a very impressive 28.65 .10s and many congratulations are extended to connections on landing the €1,800 first prize.
