DREAM RUN BY DARGLE AT SHELBOURNE

Dargle Dream landed the €1,750 winner’s purse in the Upcoming Events A2 525 at Shelbourne Park on Friday night.

Neon Night and Russmur Special put pace to the race but the latter faded away from the third turn leaving Neon Night to lead the field into the home straight. He wasn’t far enough clear, however, and found himself under severe pressure from the fast-finishing Dargle Dream.

Trained by Joe Ivory for Gerry Leech and Vasco Freire, the daughter of Burgess Bucks and Droopys Dargle came through in the closing yards to beat the long-time pace-setter Neon Night by a length in 28.98.

ROBERTO DOMINATES IN RCETS A3

The opening semi-final of the RCETS A3 525 saw Kilara Roberta dominate.

Trained by Michael Donnelly for Philip O’Keeffe, the son of Pestana and Kilara Diamond led throughout to eventually see off Ballymac Winx by three lengths in 29.00.

TUCKER STORMS CLEAR

Paul Haide and Eugene Hearns’ Turbo Tucker recovered from a tardy start to win the second heat. Leading at the third turn, the daughter of Ballymac Best and Luck Lady stayed on to secure an eight length success over Bit View Dream in 29.11.
