APOLLO A POPULAR LOCAL WINNER OF THE 1XBET SUPERSPRINT AT CURRAHEEN PARK

Barry Drake

DROOPYS APOLLO (Droopys Flytline-Droopys Meteor), trained by Johnny Linehan for the Crossborder Six Syndicate, came out on top in the €5,000 to winner 1XBet Supersprint at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

The 5-1 shot produced a flying start but it was Solo And Go who had a narrow lead heading into the opening corner. It all changed when Stonepark Browne ran up the back of Solo And Go and that really opened the door for Droopys Apollo who took full advantage. Keeping on well up front, Droopys came home three and a half lengths clear of Solo And Go, in 17.48.

DYNAMIC FORCE @ STUD A2 FINAL

In the €3,000 to the winner Dynamic Force @ Stud A2 Final, Danish Bubble (King Sheeran-Danish Robyn) scored for trainer Graham Holland and the Slattery Family Syndicate. The 4-6 favourite led early but she was forced to dig deep on the turns for home as Deelish Robyn put down a big challenge. The winner was brave and she held on to win by a length, in 28.87.

Cobh trainer Dean Harpur enjoyed a fine double, in race six, the Haven For One Syndicate A2, Ballycowen Niall (Ballymac Best-Ballycowen Lola) made all the running to win in great style. The 2-1 winner scored easily in 28.52.

Two races later in the Boys From Bally Syndicate A1, Ballycowen Archy (Ballymac Cashout-Peckies Flyer) completed the double when winning at odds of 4-5. The early paced performer impressed, winning with plenty to spare, in 28.52.

Hello My Friend (Serene Ace-Betty Beag), for Padraic and Luna Coakley, came away racing to make all the running in the fourth, the Boys Are Back In Town Syndicate A1 550. Flying down the back nicely in front, the 3-1 shot was always in charge, however, Da Tapper Flynn made late gains after stumbling from traps. Two and a half lengths the difference, in 30.12.

Newtown Alva (Orchestrate-Newtown Annabell) outstayed the front running Kerabellec Rosy in the opener, the Castlegrounds Syndicate A4. Owned and trained by Jerry Kelleher, Killeagh, the 4-1 shot turned second and she flew home to land the spoils, in 29.38. Two and a half lengths the margin.

Race two, the Sirius Alpha A3, went the way of Millridge Cindy (Ballyhimikin Jet-Millridge Dolly) for Donal O'Mahony, Millstreet. Railing well to lead around the first two bends, the 2-1 quickly shot clear and she was all out late on, holding the fast-finishing Youldoadeal, by a length and a half, in 28.81.

Broken Best (Ballymac Best-Broken Doll) made the most of the rails pitch to win the third, the Hold Onto Your Hat Syndicate A2. Using the inside line well at the opening corners to turn second behind Blastoff Ann, the 5-2 winner showed a lovely injection of speed to take up the running. Staying on strongly, the impressive winner came home five lengths clear of Blastoff Ann, 29.11.

***A great night of racing with additional prize money throughout the night all thanks to the Curraheen Park Supporters Club and the Syndicates who came on board to sponsor***.
