Droopys Crispy completed her unbeaten march through the Brownstown Tango & NTSC Open Bitch Unraced at Newbridge on Friday night, landing the final in typically professional manner.
The daughter of Droopys Addition and Droopys Alyssa faced a tough draw in five but after flying from boxes, she was soon in charge.
Ballymac Allory shot up the fence, attempting to get up the inside of the leader but Droopys Crispy cut the bend with real purpose, forcing her rival to check wide. Newline Emma Be and Dapper Daffy turned second and third, some two and a half lengths behind Droopys Crispy but neither could bridge the gap.
Owned and trained by Barry Clancy, Droopys Crispy looked determined through the remainder of the contest, staying on well to land the €6,500 prize by two lengths from Dapper Daffy in 28.94 with Newline Emma Be another half length adrift in third.
OGARA TOO HOT IN UNRACED DECIDER
Earlier on the card, there was an encouraging display from Roarin Ogara to win the final of the Newbridge Greyhound Stadium ON2 525 for new owner Andrew Yates and handler Scott Phelan.
The son of Magical Bale and Outdoor Roller was sent to traps the 5-4 favourite and he was soon in an ideal pitch.
Breaking on terms, he held his inside line into the bend to assert from Killarles. Pulling right away from halfway, he eventually hit the line five lengths clear in 28.93 – the fastest time of the night. Given his age and pedigree, there is plenty to come from Roarin Ogara in the coming months.
