Ian Fortune
It came as no surprise to see A Charda continue his superb run of form to set the standard in the semi-finals of the TIME Nutrition & NTSC at Newbridge on Friday night.
Both he and Gimont Girl went fast to win their respective heats and we can now look forward to the pair clashing in the valuable final next weekend.
A CHARDA TOO HOT TO HANDLE
The Vincent McKenna trained A Charda was a 4-5 favourite in the second semi-final and was always in a position to launch a decisive challenge.
Rosards Cheetah lived up to his name by setting the pace in the early stages but he was always in trouble when A Charda turned on his heels.
Predictably, A Charda was too strong for his rival from halfway. Drawing upsides at the third turn, the son of Orchestrate and Highview Moment, who is owned by the A Charda Gael Synidcate, eased on to beat the early leader by five lengths in a rapid 28.81.
OH SO PROFESSIONAL FROM GIRL
George O’Connor’s Gimont Girl was dominant in the opening heat, shooting from trap two to make every inch.
The daughter of Malachi and Related Info was always in control before going on to see of Pennys Gloves by four lengths in 28.86.
